Of course the ECMWF model is the best, after all it is about 5 minutes away from me when I'm at university ;). (I may have been there last year...:)) Then again I've probably posted that on here before. The GFS model upgrade is good, we use it a lot over here at it is freely avalible, we don't have anything like this for the Met Office model, as in the example below. (500hPa chart just as you mentioned )

http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten/fsavneur.html - This is great for the models around the world, although there is more for Europe than other places.

By the way, we had a tornado advisory here today as well. I haven't seen any reports of anything though unlike how bad it has been over there the last couple of days. (We are a privately funded group rather than a Met Office one so the general public doesn't know about these advisories/watches/warnings.) The stongest tornado we've had so far this year was a T3 or T4.

Was this basketball match important or something? Not that Mark made his feelings clear on Monday, lol.

Took me a second to figure out the map there...not used to seeing maps of that part of the world!

Thanks for listening PK...good to see you on Monday as well...given it was 2:30AM for you when we finished.

Yes...the game was to decide the college championship for this year...the school Mark favors is the arch enemy of the team that won...
