#1 Postby Cookiely » Thu Apr 07, 2005 3:23 pm

Just reported a cell offshore of Hernando County with 100 mph winds. Hopefully it will dissipate before it gets to land.

As they moved onshore, the winds decreased to 70-80 mph. Heavy rains and lightning. Power outages. This is for the Citrus-Hernando area according to Bay News 9.

BTW, one doesn't need a Derecho to have thunderstorm winds of 100mph.
I saw winds at Dugway UT from a severe high baser that I estimated at 100mph and which were measured by a nearby wind sensor at over 100mph before it failed.

Wow, this is getting scary. That line is coming right for me  . The lightning in the distance is very intense. Hopefully it doesn't dissipate, I want a show.
