I really have never cared for Scott. I'm still an Anwar fan and I think Constantine is very sexy!!! He has "bedroom" eyes.
Constantine's voice sounded terrific last night.

I'm just glad Scott can go back to his father and say, "Now, whatdya think?"

Yep!!! That is really sad when someone has that kind of family "life" and feels the need to do what Scott has done. He has certainly proven himself and then some!!!!1

Hey all, I don't watch American Idol but I just read on TV Guide's website that the 2 hour AI finale is the same time as the Lost 2 hour finale....see my last post on the Lost topic, here:

I'm not sure where to find specific links where he says it. But I remember him talking about his dad during the initial auditions. Here's a few blogs and quotes that talk about it:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6892084

Scott Savol took the stage. The pride of Shaker Heights, a young man who said his dad had told him he was never going to be anything, Savol proved his father wrong and got the ticket to Hollywood.

http://www.realitytvcalendar.com/recaps ... 05-p1.html

After the break and montage of bad singers, we meet twenty eight year old Scott Savol from Shaker Heights, OH. Scott tells the judges that his father has never supported him in anything he has done in his life. He says that since his father was a failure, he assumed his son would be as well. But Scott tells the judges he is his own man and he is here to prove him wrong. He sings Superstar and does a great job. He has a very smooth, powerful voice, and also interacts well with the judges. Simon says he liked his voice, but once again brings up image. Simon says that Scott just doesn't look like an American Idol. LL tells Scott that the others will never see him coming, and that he loved his voice. Scott gets yes's from all the judges, and is off to Hollywood.

http://pnaydramaqueen.blogspot.com/
Scott has a great voice, is never off-key and one can see that he actually tries harder to please the judges. Man, he even got Simon Cowell to tell him that he had a good performance after weeks of being told that he wasn't good enough. Hay. I do hope he goes far and prove his father wrong. It broke my heart when I learned that his father told him that he can't sing and would never be anything. Hey Scott's Dad! Your son could definitely sing! And he will amount to something!

Ok, ok I like Scott better. I'm still not crazy about his voice, but I admire his tenacity.

Disappointed that Jessica is out already. Had her figured for a few more weeks. She has a strong voice and emotional appeal...just not the presence that a few of the others have.

Scott, bless his heart and soul, is a winner in ways discussed here...but he, too, lacks the overall appeal that some others have. And that, not emotions, is what AI is all about.

Some terrific voices and presence still left in the running!

And then there were eight...

Nikko got a second chance, but it fell apart last night.

Not the most fun to watch this week. Show tunes are not exactly what the audience or the performers excel in...but on the show goes.

Was surprised that Vonzell was in the bottom three. Would have expected Scott or Anthony.

Carrie is still the front-runner, I think...but the rockers could take back some turf!!!

Scott should have been the one to go for two times imo. And Steve is right-Vonzell should not have been in the bottom 3.

Scott has overcome some huge personal hurdles and has done very well, but imo he is not American Idol material. Record contract? Probably and deservedly so. AI? Not imo.

My mom was shocked that Nikko was booted last night... he was pitchy at times, but Scott IMO, did worse than Nikko. Vonzell should have NOT been in the bottom 3.... No how, no way!

It should have been between Anthony and Scott.

WOW!!!WOW!!!!

Some incredible performances tonight!!! Constantine outdid Bo, who was once again incredible. Anthony keeps improving. Carrie proved she is still one of the tops!!!! Getting tougher every week!!! As good as Scott was tonight, I do not think he should still be there.

For the first time this season I thought Constantine was the best. He was the only one that sang a song close to the original.

For sure...Constantine was the highlight of the show. But I think this year's last 8 are all talented people. Should be a very well received finish to the season! I suspect Scott may go...but this is also the time in the season when we could get surprised by losing some others...except perhaps Carrie, Bo, and Constantine right now.

Anwar, Constantine, Bo and Carrie ----- my favorites in that order. What great performances. I don't see what the judges see in Scott. To me he has very little control over his voice.

Anwar's performance last night was the best one yet. I think Scott did an excellent job singing the Hall and Oates song regardless of what Simon had to say! Carrie has finally shown the other side of her talent. Vonzell was also great and she had the rhythm and style last night. Last night was also Constantine's better performance.

Nadia and Anthony are not my favorites so nothing they sing impresses me. As for Bo, well, he can do no wrong.

Someone needs to tell Nadia that the 70's have been over. lol.

We have watched all the seasons so far. Kelly clarkson is a class act and the best to be "crowned" so far, but this years "crop" far outshines any of the previous years imo. Everyone of the top 12 will probably come out of it with a contract. My preference for a winner this year is a "rocker" type since no one of that genre has won yet. And I do think Carrie can pull into that mold if she wants to. Definitely Bo, Carrie and Constantine are the top 3 imo. Steve's comments ring so true though as we have seen how the voting can "skew" things in the past.

WHY is Scott still around? He is not good enough to still be there imo. On top of that he has a domestic violence charge against him from 2001.
