i know what you mean there. we had zero tolerance back in tx and some of them just went sooo extreme is was nuts - kids kicked out for wearing something like you are talking about, etc. suspended for days, etc. i believe it is a good policy if there are good rules as to what zero tolerance mean. i think that is the problem - it can be sort of a blanket policy of their own making that can really get ridiculous. and then we have the palm beach school district - supposedly has zero tolerance yet that is not what i see at some of the schools - it's anything goes! and some of the kids are really scared to even go to school. that's why i was glad my kids had the magnet school to go to. the administrators taught these kids how to respect one another, gave them freedoms that gave them respect back, but they knew if they went over a certain line then they personally would be held responsible for that action. and it worked! one of the best schools in the district! and has been for years through several administrators. the kids love going there and teachers love teaching there.

Rape as punishment for rape? Yeah, that's a good idea.

EYE FOR AN EYE. MAYBE THEY WILL FEEL THE GUILT AND PAIN THBIS GIRL WENT THROUGH.. GALVESTON YOU GOTTA ADMIT THIS WAS THE UGLY OF THE UGLY. ANYWAY'S, WHAT TYPE OF PUNISHMENT DO YOU SUPPOSE SHOULD HAPPEN HERE?

So, reward other felons by letting them engaqe in sexual offenses against fellow inmates? And what happens when those felons are released? They'll believe that anytime they feel an injustice has been done against them, they can rape that person (since it's really all about control and power). And the cycle continues.

It's a stupid means of punishing the offenders, if you ask me.

Exactly the opposite. It is called rehab not punishment. Prisoners who are released who have been raped in prison are more likely not to do it in soceity because of the physical brutality they went through...

I'm not talking about the ones who GET raped. I'm talking about the ones who do the raping.

Re-read my post. I was clear, or so I thought.

That makes no sense. You called it rehab. You were taking about the felons who are in prison for rape on the OUTSIDE. I am talking about the felons who rape the other felons on INSIDE THE PRISON -- that's not rehab. That's stupid. Why give other felons the power to do that?

I'm aware of that.

What I don't understand is WHY you would condone forcible rape...gay rape, at that. And then have the audacity to call it rehab for those who perpetrate it? How can it be rehab to let someone commit a crime in prison? So, is murder in a prison okay also? Is it rehab?

Gay rape??

Galveston, it is prison life. Once the find out what you are there for, it is all over. Its kinda funny that in prison they do not call it gay rape. It is a form of rehab in prison, because it forces the person to understand their wrong and feel what they did to others. Its kinda weird, but tht is prison .

Okay, for the sake of clarification, let's say "Joe" is one of the kids who sexually assaulted this little girl. He gets convicted and thrown in jail. Now, "Paul" is an inmate already incarcerated for arson. Paul finds out that Joe sexually assaulted a child and Paul rapes Joe. (Yes, it's gay rape -- man on man...gay. Duh!)

So, what you are saying is that it's a way of life for prisoners to rape other prisoners. Fine, I understand that.

What I am saying is that it repeats the cycle by allowing and rewarding Paul for enforcing control and power over Joe. It makes Paul a sexual offender, which he was NOT in the first place.

You stated above "WHAT TYPE OF PUNISHMENT DO YOU SUPPOSE SHOULD HAPPEN HERE?"

Again, you're getting off track with what I'm saying.

I'm not talking about Joe. He can rot for all I care. I'm talking about...and have been talking about...Paul, the convicted arsonist.

For those of us of "simpler" minds...these type back and forth, quote upon quote upon quote, is just a waste of space

Just my 3 cents

Usually it is, but since wxcrazytwo isn't here for me to point out with my finger where he's gotten lost, I have to re-post it...again and again...for clarification.

I am sorry, I am little hard headed sometimes, but I don't think I lost my way. It is difficult for me to display my thoughts in writing, as it takes visual acuity to see what I am trying to tell you. I understand what you are saying though...
