It looks as if a pretty good cell is heading in my direction. Here isone of the latest radar returns which shows what path it has been taking so far:

I'm going up to the local park for a bit and will bring my digital camera, just in case.

TT snowwizz never said this was going to be the coldest april in 115 years... Maybe you havnt read close enough but he said this is only 1 of 7 cold aprils AFTER A WARM MARCH in the past 115 years.

I see you have some good facts about the amount of higsh in the 40's and lows in the 30's, but like snow wizzard said, this month is following a warm march, and those April's you posted did not continue to stay cold throughout the entire month.

Hey Everyone!

Check this out these two pics of a Cumulonimbus cloud I just took a very short while ago from here atop Hollywood hill, looking NW toward Bothell.

Thanks Justin! You think any of the storm cells will come my way, Justin?

Justin... those cells are not really moving towards you. The flow today is weaker than the past few days. Hopefully you are not just sitting at the park waiting!! At least its a pretty nice afternoon.

Not expecting much in the Seattle area today... despite looking promising this morning!!

TT-SEA,

What's the latest date downtown Seattle has had measureable snowfall? Has Seattle had measureable snowfall in April?

And what's the latest date Western Washington has had a high wind event...at least for the main Puget Sound region?

Watch the radar loop over at Kirotv.com. It sure looks as if it is heading in a Northeast direction. There are dark clouds to my west, also. More cells are popping up down near Tacoma as I type this also.

Andy, it is a possibility. Especially when more of these showers form. Just wait a while and you might have a surprise. :)

They are moving northeast and then falling apart as they reform to the southwest.

Some type of rain shadow here today.

The latest measurable snow at Sea-Tac was on April 17, 1972.

A total of 2.3 inches fell.

A suprisingly nice day today!! It has been Mostly Sunny all day with temps in the low to mid 50's here in my area, after a low of 36 degrees. Also with a nice breeze blowing, it really feels like spring today! 8-)

Great pics Andy!

Get used to it.

After the weekend... its going to be much warmer and drier.

This month will end up near normal... maybe slightly below but not by much.

But the weekend system is looking wet.

Here the predicted precipitation from Friday morning through Saturday evening...

Image

We are the wettest place in the country!! Hopefully this will bring our monthly rainfall to normal because we may not get much after this storm.
