Goodbye Maritimes Weather

#1 Postby BritBob » Wed Apr 13, 2005 7:11 pm

Out with the old, in with the new as they say!!

Since Maritimes Weather hit the internet during the summer of 2004, our original focus was to provide the best weather service possible for the residents of Maritimes Canada.

It has become quite clear that we have surpassed this and not only have we become a larger national entity, but we also have regular visitors from across the US and around the world. To reflect this wider audience we feel a name change would be more appropriate.

In the last four weeks we have conducted a poll on both the main site and the forums, and both were hugely in favour of a name change for the site. Of course, we understand that not everyone will be happy with this but as always the majority decision wins.

So, after weeks of debate, polling and receiving feedback we opted for the name change. We are pleased to announce our new name of `Canadian-Weather`

http://www.canadian-weather.ca

This will be closely followed by some great new additions, along with some significant improvements to the look and feel of the site in general. I`ve spent the last few weeks working up a basis for the new site, which has will be almost completely re-coded - a major pain!

Regards,
Bob.

Ps. Thanks admin(s).
