Early season storms or August...
Do you think we'll see more early season storms (June-July) or typically the (Aug-Oct.) storms?
I hope this board doesn't become impatient if they have nothing to track until August again.

I got a beachfront condo for Destin, Florida booked August 4th thru the 11th. The first week of August, we should be okay right? Don't the hurricanes usually hit closer to the end of August? I chose the first week of August because the prices dropped off some. July was way too expensive. I just hope no storm rolls through where we have to cancel my long-waited vacation.

August is lethal when it comes to Hurricanes. September may be more active, but when August comes, watch out:::

August 13, 1880 - 150 mph storm hits Northern Mexico...likely significant impact on South Texas.

I'm sure that by the end of July we'll be seeing aguished cries about the season being a dud.
I expect we'll have the usual one or two early systems (like last year we had the unnamed TS which devastated Hispaniola at the end of May) but the season will really get cranking in mid to late August.

I think we may see something in June or July, but nothing else until the end of July or early August.. For some reason I have a feeling in my bones it could start out something like last season. Then August inot September, probably not many breaks.. Just a thought..

There is NO way to tell when a storm will hit. They don't follow any rulescajungal wrote:I got a beachfront condo for Destin, Florida booked August 4th thru the 11th. I think Audrey hit around my birthday (June 25th). But, many, many years before I was born. I don't even think my mom was born yet.
Let me tell you a story.... I was about 9 or 10 and I was having a slumber party that year. I had about 4 friends over all in sleeping bags in the living room. In the middle of the night, we heard the doorknob rattling like someone was fixing to break in. We all ran down the hall screaming trying to wake my mom. It turned out to be only my dad! He works offshore on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. They sent him home early because of some tropical storm but I can't remember which one. Yeah, my birthday falls at the beginning of hurricane season, so we don't get many around that time. My best friend's birthday falls 5 days after mine (June 30) and she got stuck with Tropical Storm Bill on her birthday.

I think it's a mortal lock that a lot of people on the board will get impatient.
