Brennan, you might want to edit that last post because the moderators may think of that as a personal attack. Or at least clarify that you meant to say it would suck to be dressed up in shorts when it is 65 out, not that you were attacking his parenting abilities.
EDIT: Anyone have predictions for this next week? What are the night time temperatures looking like with the northerly flow?

An AWESOME day outside...currently 67F with sunny conditions. And this pattern should continue for the next week...at least.
Tuesday and Wednesday of this upcoming week will be downright HOT for this time of year...I would say 70-75F on Tuesday...75-85F on Wednesday. Places along the foothills will approach that 85F on Wednesday. Thursday we'll drop back into the upper 60s, lower 70s...and then a solid northerly flow develops beyond that as our strong ridge of high pressure retrogrades to 140W. This will continue the mostly sunny conditions, but temperatures will be considerably cooler...upper 50s, lower 60s...or back to normal. lol.
And next weekend is up in the air...latest GFS models want to bring down a shortwave from Canada...bringing temperatures down to the lower 50s and light rain. Considering it will be almost May by then, I don't believe this.
SUMMER IS HERE!!

Yeah i didn't really mean it like that but oh well...
Anthony, I agree with your mid week predictions on high temperatures... But with a northerly flow I think there could be some extremely variable temperatures from day and night... We could have some 40 degree swings here... With high temps in the mid 70's i think places could get into the 30-35* range by thursday...
So High temps in the mid 70's, lows in the low 30's followed by a solid cool down like Anthony said... I don't think this is normal.. TT stop saying that this month is sooo normal, because it isn't as normal as you are making it sound...

Depending on how warm it gets, I think it is possible Seattle may end up averaging at or even slightly above normal for the month of April. Over the last 6 days of the month it has to be an average of 3.3 degrees above normal for each of them and it will cancel out the cold we had. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Nice day. We were all very comfortable in our summer clothes. The sun was actually hot in places. The smell of suntan lotion and seeing everyone out in shorts and t-shirts... feels awesome!!
Mostly mid and upper 60's but some low 70's on the Eastside.
Just need to mention... my forecast that Brennan keeps quoting had mid to upper 60's today.
I am struggling to imagine a more normal April. I guess we had one day that was really abnormal (last Friday). Otherwise... this is about as normal as a month can be. I am not being difficult here. I just think a period of cool weather and a period of warm weather with rainfall close to normal... is... well... for lack of a better word... normal.
I give Snow_Wizzard credit for predicting the showers last night. Most places had small amounts but we had .50 which is pretty good. However... his overall forecast for this weekend was much gloomier than reality. The feeling of sunburn on my face is evidence of that!!

After an awesome day, the sky has clouded up with middle/high clouds. Still fairly warm...it feels humid outside.
Tuesday and Wednesday look to be the warmest of the week. As of now, most local meteorologists are playing conservative...sticking afternoon temps around 70F. But I think you can add another 10F to that...esp. Wednesday. 500 mb heights approach 590 by then.
This weather is flippin' awesome!!

Oh man what an awesome day! No clouds at all until about 5:00PM. Most people I have seen on the lake playing since last summer. Just layed on the dock and soaked in the sun
then went jetskiing
then had some steak from the BBQ
And yeah TT, we will probably start running irrigation on Tuesday!!
LOVE this weather!!!

Viewing the latest GFS and NAM....
looks like this really nice weather will continue along with warm temps as 500MB heights will be at 570DM and 850MB temps of +9 to +12C through about Wednesday of this upcoming work week. Surface temps during this time will likly be in the 75 - 80 degree range, with posibbly a few areas in the low 80`s. Temps cool down a bit begining Thursday, but the ridge of high pressure lasts though about the 2nd/3rd of May....in which showers come back in the forecast picture around the 4th.

Anthony... 500mb heights are not going to be at 590DM this week. I think you meant 570DM.
The 00Z run of the NAM has some nice days for Monday through Wednesday. By Thursday we could get clipped from the east by a little trough and 500mb heights could drop to around 555DM. Should be dry and still pleasant during the day but cool at night. We could finish the month with a couple days right around normal.
Fitting way to end a normal month!!

LOL...I didn't see that TT-SEA...that 590 was suppose to be 570.
An awesome week on tap...downright hot during the middle of the week. Latest NWS dicussion mentions temperatures in the mid/upper 60s...I think you can add another 10F to that.
The northern branch tries to get active toward the end of the week and next weekend. The northern branch is usually week this time of year...so you can't expect anything drastic. But temperatures should return to normal by Friday...and next weekend when the possibility of rain does exist.

Some interesting statistics...
Sea-Tac monthly average for April (through today) is at 49.1 degrees.
Normal for the month is 50.2 degrees. So we are now within 1 degree of normal.
THIS IS NOT A FORECAST.
But if the month plays out like this we would end up EXACTLY normal. Right at 50.2 degrees.
Mon Hi 68 Lo 48
Tue Hi 68 Lo 48
Wed Hi 68 Lo 48
Thu Hi 60 Lo 42
Fri Hi 60 Lo 42
Sat Hi 60 Lo 42
IF this were to happen... this month would be perfectly normal
I still say we end up maybe .2 of a degree below normal. But it is possible to be dead on.

This is true.
You can also play with the numbers. For example... if we had a high of 70 degrees on Tuesday we are allowed 2 degrees less on another day's high or low temperature.
I just do not see a hot day in the cards this week.
We are going to have more typical offshore flow and cooler 850mb temperatures.
I think it will be more reasonably warm... like upper 60's.
Until later in the week when low 60's might be all we can muster.
