Yes, a nice pic but has nothing to do with tropical weather. The picture was used as a hoax during Isabel.

No scorpion, this is a different pic. A very impressive mesocyclone. But alas, it does not have anything to do with tropical weather.

Very nice though.

0% chance that was during Isabel.

Classic super-cell type system

Maybe its where a tornado is about to form?

In any case, its not the false picture that your thinking of...that one showed "Isabel" as a "giant tornado/wall of clouds" over the ocean as it "approached" NC/VA.

This is just another photo that is claimed to be from Isabel or some other hurricane.. No way possible... Classic super cell.. Besides, if this was taken during Isabel or any other hurricane, where is all the water that would be splashing up on the deck.. The waves with Isabel were huge even a day to 2 days out... The deck is dry.. No splashing waves either... 100% BS.

Nice shot though

This is a picture taken from a ship on Lake Superior. I'll find the references and post them

No way

This is not a ship in THIS photo on THIS topic. Too wide- look at the scale of the structure- it is on land. The supercell is also moving from right to left in this shot (it could be a reversed photo too). Jesse, correct me if I'm wrong, but the gust front deal on the bottom would be the leading edge of this thing pointing in the direction it's traveling. Right?

In any case, I do not think this is a ship. That is another photo that circulated during Isabel.

Sorry for the bad info there..awesome photo none the less.

I should have known that its difficult for tropical systems to produce that type of feature.

Well, let me add this:

That structure to the left is not part of any ship. Maybe the photo was taken ON a ship- or barge- but that big thing to the left is on land. Maybe a port of some kind.

Wow, this is fun.

This picture is fake. It may have been a real picture but the tornado was added in somehow.

Yeah, just look at the water... nice and calm. Hurricanes don't just hit you like a brick wall like that. Days in advance, seas are rough. I agree, those are bogus. Looks like a thunderstorm to me.

Could be storms in advance of the hurricanes but I doubt it.
