This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

New Pattern I discovered...tells the future?

#1 Postby Anonymous » Mon Apr 25, 2005 12:26 pm

Ok...follow along, it may be confusing.

Hurricane Andrew- 1992-Atleast 140 mph-Male Name-Small-Gulf-August
Hurricane Bret -1999-Atleast 140 mph-Male Name-Small-Gulf-August
Hurricane Charley- 2004-Atleast 140 mph-Male Name-Small-Gulf-August

Ok...they all were atleast 140 mph (CAT 4) in August in the Gulf. They were all small, and the landfalls were:

Cat 5-Cat 3-Cat 4....so the next would be Cat 3.

The name pattern is A-B-C....

1992...plus 7 years
1999...plus 5 years
2004...plus 3 years

With the states of landfall:

Andrew hit South Florida
Bret hit South Texas
Charley hit north of Andrew (On west side though)
THE NEXT STORM WILL HIT NORTH TEXAS

The dates: (SOMEWHAT OF A TETTER)

Andrew- August 23-24
Bret- August 22-23
Charley- August 13
SO THE NEXT STORM WILL BE::: August 12

Ok, so with this, the next hurricane to follow this pattern would be:::

Hurricane Dean
A small Gulf Hurricane, Peak winds of atleast 140 mph, however, Dean weakens to a Category 3 by landfall in North Texas on August 12, 2007.

Then...
1992...plus 7 years
1999...plus 5 years
2004...plus 3 years
2007...plus 1 year

Hurricane Edouard
A small hurricane that strikes South Florida as a Category 5, and then South Texas as a Cat 3/4/5. It will be an August storm, and will strike Florida on August 3, 2008.

I know you can not go by this, but interesting pattern indeed. Comments welcomed.

Certainly seems like a pattern, doesn't it! Guess we will have to wait and see!

North Texas?! You mean north of where Bret hit, right?

Hurricane numerology, eh? Alright, I'll play.

You could also argue that Dean '07 would be a Cat 2, given the pattern of -2, +1. That would make Edouard '08 a Cat 3, which supposedly would be followed by a Cat 1, but your clock runs out in '08.

1992 A Cat 5
1999 B Cat 3 (-2 from last step)
2004 C Cat 4 (+1 from last step)
2007 D Cat 2 (-2)
2008 E Cat 3 (+1)

I suppose it could be another 2007 storm, Felix in this case, since your year pattern goes +7, +5, +3, +1 -- so -1 could be next, then -3? However, it blows up at the next step, which would be Gaston '04. According to the pattern, that should be a Cat 2. Interestingly, the pattern would kick back in with Harvey '99, which was a TS.

2007 F Cat 1 (-2)
2004 G Cat 2 (+1) (only a Cat 1, though)
1999 H Cat 0 (-2)

If this verifies, I'm sending you some lottery forms to fill out for me.
