Animated Global SST Analysis

#1 Postby SkeetoBite » Sun Apr 24, 2005 10:31 pm

This link is to a Flash animation of the NOAA Global SST Analysis. You will need Flash or Shockwave to view. The page "should" be smart enough to direct you to this player if you need it.

The period covered is Jan 1, 2005 through Apr 23, 2005

Please let us know if there is value in this type of content.

Man, that's quite an animation. Very smooth transitions. I am confident others will find it useful as well.

I think Skeetobite's EXCELLENT animation reveals something about the global situation. Except for a period in the middle of the animation where the Eastern Pacific was significantly cooler than normal, ALL the world's tropical waters are quite a bit above average for this time of year. This holds true across the Atlantic, Pacific AND Indian Basins. There remains a persistently cool pocket off the US East Coast, but even that is whittling away. Is this another subtle sign of.......GASP  ...... Global Warming??????
