Well let's see if this is true and if it is then Colin Powell was right when he talked at the UN and showed the connection between Al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein.

So true cycloneye! I forgot about all of them. One that comes to mind the most is Michael Moore. He made a complete fool out of himself at the Oscars.

Iraqi/Bin Laden Game:
Let's call it the French Connection without pardon of it's former connotation...First of all, before the war began, you may recall we were already discussing here the fact that Special Forces were on the ground and 'living' in Northeastern Iraq - -and had evidence yet prior to that of al Qaeda entrenched in Northern & Eastern Iraq. OK, so now we find papers strewn on the floor in some Baghdad building with white out all over it (lol) in an attempt to hide documentation of Bin Laden's envoy who hung with the Wacky Iraqis for over a week. In fact, their meetings were going so well that they extended it and were planning a F2F with the coot OBL himself. Brothers in arms against the US and Saudi - nice buddies. Remember also that prior to the start of the war, al Qaeda were also seen blazenly walking through the streets of Baghdad in the open. The connection was made, the deals were cut, the relationships were established. What has transpired since those pre-invasion days....well Captain Insaneo (Saddam) himself and his 2 spawn have 'vanished' a la Bin Laden-style. Coincidence? Think not. OBL pushes others into becoming a suicide bomber but you don't see him strapping a SBB onto himself now do you...he is into self-preservation and surely has conveyed some escapist tactics to Saddam and the Boys from Iraq. Now a step further - look at the French Connection, nice friends that they are, providing Iraq with Intell and plans between Chirac and Washington - bad, bad, bad. They need a spanking. Who is going to volunteer...? We're busy meeting with the UAE (United Arab Emerates) in the effort to get Iraq back on track...Jordan is urging everyone to 'hurry up & get a plan'...local Iraqis are screaming about the mishap the other day with the weapons cache....Iran is trying to worm its way into the new governmental proceedings and formations...Yemen is ticking...Syria is a whole new pandora's box of surprises...Turkey is being jerky...
We are not an isolationist country; we work pragmatically with others and should use diplomacy with countries/powers that are fearful via perceived arrogance. Heads buried in sand do not promote awareness or depth perception. We will not tell our current partners goodbye, we will not abandon our support and protective actions, we will not cut off aid and withdraw into our borders. None of those are our precepts and principles of democracy and freedom. We do have a dilema with terrorism & fanaticism around the world with deep religious roots but we must be realistic about where we are and the costs, both financial and of time. Leadership must begin with the world's strongest nation. There is a summit next month in Avion, France with Chirac, Putin and the rest of the core groups who will be attending - we must work through the issues and continue down the path of diplomacy and discussions - and that includes the U.N. These efforts strengthen our Constitution and strengthen our security, not the opposite.

That attack on the ammo dump...an Iraqi one, not U.S., came off too "pat" not to have been planned and executed by Iranian agents, according to one source; note how quickly the crowd gathered? The stoning, preventing our troops from aiding at the scene? Anti-U.S. cries everywhere, within minutes of the blasts?
This was a "set-up", IMHO. And let us not forget the r/t intelligence Russia shared with Saddam on Tony Blair?
Lots of questions to answer from our "friends"...and a few from Iran as well.

I'm sure that this isn't the last of the smoking guns that will be found. France has shown their true colors throughout this whole episode. I hope all three of the Axis of Weasels are squirming in their own dung!

M2, I was in no way promoting isolationism! However, when someone craps on you like France has on the U.S. and the world for that matter, it needs to be wiped off and the responsible party needs to be taught some manners!! Yes I will volunteer for the spanking!! I'm sure there will be a long line!! Someone needs to step up, even if it is diplomatically and at a minimum slap Chirac silly in public!!! Talk about aiding and abetting the enemy!!!!Geesh!!! JMHO!

No one was taking names Dave, dont' worry
Alot of people think we should pull in and turn off but that's not going to happen. And no one is going to give France a spanking either (unless Bill volunteers) since they have to save face and we won't admonish them in public. It's a perception thing again. Pawlee:I'm sure you've chewed on turkey jerky from Costco...it's similar 8) so therefore you've contributed (in a good way) - not a spanking but close. Chewed their *****.

Bill,
I'm glad you see my point,as many may or may not.The Iraq/Frog..'Where is Saddam'..'Is Saddam dead or alive' rhetoric is wasteful energy, ill spent IMHO.
Saddam was more than likely cut a deal,to 'disappear'.End of Story.
Our main concerns should be with WMD proliferation from Countries like Russia,China,Pakistan,India,N Korea..and YES FRANCE!
