Good morning fellow weathergeeks...or good afternoon if you're on the east coast. I haven't been in touch for over a week while my family was visiting from Tampa. Had a great time, but now is the part I hate ... catching up on everything around the house. Mostly laundry and paperwork. :8:

I've not caught up on all the posts, but I see some things haven't changed around here. Pojo is still juggling 101 tasks, vbhoutex did a number on the KKs, and breeze is camped out with the amaretto and chocolate. :bP

Happy belated birthday Joshua! :new-bday:

Be cool ya'll!

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm sooooo sleepy. I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open. Phew, a really busy weekend and now I'm paying for it.

David, I brought some more KK's for ya. Chocolate covered - Yummy I've been prayin for ya. Hope the interview pans out. Chardonnay and gardening, yes my gardens are pretty wild.

Poppysky, you be careful over there. How scarey that would be.

Pojo, givem "heck".

Breeze, I brought you some Amaretto. Did you ever try it with Pepsi??

Isobar, you know when I have company, I'm soooo excited when they come and if they are there for an extended stay, I'm equally excited to see them go.

Joshua, hope your birthday was a happy one and that all is well with you.

Furry, a stars and stripes bathing suit. That should do the trick.

Well hi's to all and I hope your Monday is turning out to be a good one.

Take care
Karan

HOWDY one and all!

WHEW, whatta day, ya ever see a sunburnt snowman??? Well, if you saw me right now, you would see a FRIED TO A CRISP snowman "LOL!" I know, I know, they make sunscreen Dennis SHEESH! You'd think working outside for a living I'd learn by now but NOOOOOO! One of these days, my ears are gonna fall off!

Yup, went back to work *almost* full time, did my first 10 mile hike since last fall. We're still working in the Chediski part of the burn area, still makes me SICK to my stomach to see the total destruction, all well, won't be long before SOME growth takes place, although, the area where we were today, there may NEVER be anything grow PERIOD. It was in one of the hottest parts of the fire, temps in that area were said to be over 2000+°, in some of the washes, the sand is literally turned to a black glass!

Well, it's time for a beer or two or three! Until tomorrow, "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You!'

Ok, I called and left a voice mail message with Jodi and hopefully, I'll get a call back. I'm not paying the $456 bill that I supposedly owe. I have been an employee for 5 years now and have worked the alotted hours to get a free membership.

As for Habitat...we had elections yesterday and now you can officially call me secretary of UWGB Habitat for Humanity. I picked up that job title now...and for the fall 2003 semester. :D I have been waiting on paperwork for something that would fulfill my presence during the whole Spring 2004 semester. No one at Habitat knows yet, and I will fill them in when the good news arrives via the paperwork. It hopefully will be within the next couple of days. I will keep you updated. I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch thought...I'm just taking one day at a time.

As for the end of the semester...that is RAPIDLY approaching!!! Only a few weeks til Finals!!! Right now, a group project for Environmental Geology has my attention. Thankfully, I only have one end of the semester project.

As for the exams that I handed in or took today...please don't remind me. :grr: It was bad enough trying to figure out the questions for the Chemistry II take home! :grr: The physics II exam wasn't that bad, but the professor sprung a take home on us exam that is due on Wednesday in class! :grr: :grr: Thanks alot...its like I don't have enough things to do!

When I don't understand something, I become extremely stubborn and give up easily...and my Physics II professor doesn't really help that issue...at times, he makes it worse. :o :o He assumes that everyone...I mean everyone knows what they are doing. FYI...when you assume...you make an @$$ out of U and ME. :o He will make comments like "maybe is the calculator that isn't figuring out the solution right." or "Its really easy...do this, this and this."  My classmates know that I will personally make a smart @$$ comment for the situation to make him mad. As for the calculator thing...I made a comment "It's not the calculator...its more like the operator." And for the 'easy' comment..."Some of us don't have your brain...that this comes natural; we need to work many equations to get the answer, we can not automatically pop the numbers into a calculator to get the answer." I may look angelic from the outside, but I can be extremely stubborn! :o I needed help on a problem on the take home and he didn't really help me like I expected him to. While I was walking out, he asked how I was doing...I'm like "don't ask...and that's the end of the story." I just kept walking! Like I said, my stubbornness can get the best of me. :o

It would be nice if professors could get the 'one' class philosophy out of their heads!  I hate when professors assume we only have just one class to consume our time...no job, no other classes, nothing else.  Apparently, they don't understand that we have to work inorder to pay for our education, take a full load that way we can get out of college in a reasonable time frame, have charity work that consumes a portion of our lives, etc.

Ok, I'm done Bitchin.

As for the gorgeous weather that we had today...66* in Titletown!!! :D :D It was a little windy, but oh well...I'm not complaining. My Calc professor let us have class outside today. We got to play with Chalk!!! :D You could not have asked for a better day. One of my roommates and I did our homework outside. :D Surprisingly, things did get done. I tried working on my tan, but I have a feeling that parts of my body may turn into a Lobster. I'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Dennis...sunscreen is a good invention if you have the mind power to use it.

Breeze...back away from the Chocolates! Remember a lesson that you learned back in the day... Boys and Girls please share your objects that you brought for show and tell :D

Isobar...Laundry...what a good idea! That is what I am doing now...speaking of that...I should go downstairs and check on it.

Has anyone seen Crouton...the KK's are still on the table yet (oops...I shouldn't have said that...VB will be all over them!) :o Oink, Oink...oooohhh...No wonder why...Crouton is enjoying himself in the mud!

Garrett...Pojo Jr??? I'm speechless!

I hear "Shannon get off the soap box!!!" from someone in the peanut gallery...so I'm going to shut up and go check my laundry.

Hey...Pojo...

It's that end of semester attitude that gets to everyone including the professors. Maybe you all need to take a TIME OUT!

Congrats on your election at UWGB.

I'd suggest, however, that if you're going to be an officer for the Habitat organization there that you go back and figure out how to get Crouton out of the ductwork at the last place you built.

You think it has a funny odor in the house now, well just wait til you walk in there on a hot summer day if our piggy doesn't make it out of the ductwork!

He'll deserve the Krispy Kremes once he is rescued...but in the meantime I'll have a warm one with my first cup of coffee in the morning.

91 here today. Not sizzlin' yet...but beginning to warm up. Supposed to be 84-89 the rest of the week.

Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Good evening everyone. I have some leftover birthday cake ... anyone want some?

Twas a nice day for once ... temps hit the mid to upper 60s under partly cloudy skies. Can't wait till it rains again. ;)

My comp won't be going in for the upgrades till the end of this week most likely. One of the $250 checks is ready and the other is not. Once it is, this bad boy is gettin' more power! :D

I hope it warms up here soon ... I'm tired of this d @ |\/| |\| cool or cold weather! Bring on the warmth please!

That's about all for now ... c ya! Joshua

Dennis, you REALLY need to come visit us in Lou'siana! Your forecast is ridiculous! I'm packing bikini's and you're digging out the snowsuit...no way...come to warmer lands, my friends!

Shannon...way to go girl! Hugs)

Ever experienced the "real Louisiana"? We did yesterday..we let the kids play hookey from school, headed out to the local State Park, and went canoeing through the bayou....it was a little scary, I never cared much for brown murky waters....but it was also incredibly beautful. We literally spent the day canoeing a course through beautiful majestic cypress trees...we saw alot of nature, no snakes or gators...(Thank You Lord!) :) We even saw a vine encrusted old abandoned floating shack...scared me to death...it was moving, spinning, and unidentifiable for the first 40 seconds of my fright! I was a little uneasy after that, not quite sure why it spooked me so bad, must be the setting, but I was anxious to paddle on through the cypress trees and get on to more open waters...

Today is a double day of school...the final countdown on the cruise has arrived, kids are restless, and excited...I DID start packing today...%am Sunday morning, we're outta here! ( On to bluer waters...) :)

Enjoy the day, its a beauty here!

SMACK!!SMACK!! YUM!!! NOTHING beats a chocolate covered KK!!! I think Crouton must have been rescued since I could only find 2 left!!! Well at least they can move into that Habitat house now!! I was wondering where Crouton was!!! Now has anyone seen Clarabelle?

No news yet on the interview, but I am still hopeful it will happen. Keep the faith baby, keep the faith!!

Thanks Ticka for teaching the Blobology 101 class over in the Tropics thread!! Definitely was an impressive blob in the GOM, but shear has torn it up this afternoon. More coming out of S TX and Mexico to contemplate and comment on.

This puppy is up way too late after an early day so I'm gonna hit the sack. Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Morning everyone!

I had a busy yesterday and last night at the scholarship dinner, after I gave my speech, I was granted a year-long $600 each semester scholarship. I was so surprised! :o Last year at the dinner they only gave me a one semester $450 scholarship.

I have one exam today and I hope I can relax enough tonight to be here when they unveil the "big surprise".

Have a great day everyone,

Well Good Morning wx247 and everyone else!

Guess what??? The winds blowing *sigh* OH.....read in the Az Republic yesterday, I was gonna post it but you know....the *CRS* thing! ANYWAYS, the article stated that we sat an ALL TIME record for sustained winds over 25 for the month of April, now that's something to REALLY be proud of, "NOT!" The windest April in recorded history.

wx247.....GREAT, GREAT news on the scholarships indeed!

Wasn't around too much yesterday, in fact, that's the way it's gonna be the rest of the spring, summer and early fall, business to say the least has really picked up and my 'puter time will be limited, well, let's say my *play time* on the 'puter will be limited.

That's it for me, make it a GREAT *Windsday*

Good morning everyone. It's a partly cloudy Wednesday morning with a temperature of 56.9 degrees.

Great job Garrett on the scholarships! I'm proud of you, WxBud! :D

Dennis ... let's hope those idiots don't start another big fire again this year. Last year was bad enough; and we sure don't need a repeat.

That's about all from me this morning ... c ya! Joshua

Well its another cloudy overcast day here in SE Texas - we need some rain. I have to rush home this evening and water and weed the garden. Need to get it all done - so I can be here tonight to introduce the new addtion to Storm2k.

Just got news from my daughter's principal - she is being considered to exceleratered classes next year - and she's only in 1st grade. Its been a year long struggle but seems like it was worth it.

Tomorrow is my 4th year wedding anniversary - we are waiting until this weekend to go out and have a night-out. Can't believe how fast the years fly bye.

Congrats Garrett on your scholarship !!! To everyone else on the FRONT PORCH - have a great day and until tomorrow.

Sorry...its been busy around here.

Well...I'm glad crouton found his way out of the ducts...it would have been a 'smelly' situation watching *covers Croutons ears* him fry like bacon. :o

Thanks for the congrats on the Secretary position with UWGB Habitat. I've been waiting for my chance...and how I have it. Lots of resposibilities along with the job, so I'll be juggling quite alot when it comes to next fall.

Rainy wednesday here...although the rain has let up....hopefully, we can get the chance to build this evening...maybe start to lay the face plate on the roof. I guess we'll see what comes up and what we have the opportunity to do.

Congrats Garrett :D Way to go! :D

The other Shannon...enjoy your cruise! That sounds like an awesome opportunity!

Ticka...congrats on your 4 year anniversary :D

Well...Gotta head to work and then to Habitat...see ya laterz :D

Thanks Shannon, we're very excited...kids are having a hard time sleeping...I remember I was like that as a child when we were on the brink of a vacation at Disney World...lol

Ticka...wonderful news on your daughter! It takes alot of hard work on your part, as well as hers and you should be commended right along with her! ((((((((Wonderful))))))))

Happy Anniversary, time does fly doesn't it? Funny, we're coming up on our first wedding anniversary while on our cruise next week, and it feels like its been forever ago, since we said our I=Do's! I guess so much has happened in the year since we wed, that makes it feel longer. Hope ya'll do something incredibly romantic! Enjoy....

Don't forget tonights chat and "unveiling ceremony"....LOL We're all very curious, I'm sure!

Have a great rest of your Wednesday all....
