Everyone ready?

#1 Postby zoeyann » Thu May 05, 2005 2:44 pm

With less than a month to go until the season starts, I was wondering how many people have their kits together. Or do I win a prize for being the early bird

My parents never learn, in case a hurricane comes to Miami, they will probably be there in the rush to get prepare a few hours before the strike.

There was a poll about hurricane kits recently in the Hurricane Preparation Forum. This may give you an idea. :)

We never get anything until we are under a warning. We wait to the last minute. It adds to the adrenaline rush. We have a generator that we never used (bought it right after Andrew). So, we have that. We have flashlights. Probably just need more batteries. And we always have water on stock. If worse gets to worse, my mom always have Peanut butter and bread in the pantry.

Well I STILL have canned goods left over from Isabel. In the event of a storm threatening I would need to stock up on drinking water, Doritos, and last but not least...DOUGNUTS :D

I can hardly wait until the season starts! Even though it may be slow for June/July. Just hope nothing happens on my birthday (June 25th.) That marks the anniversary that Audrey formed. And I pray nothing is in the gulf from August 4th through the 11th. I am going to Destin, Florida and as much as I love tracking hurricanes, I don't want anything to ruin my vacation. You don't know how much I need this vacation. I can't wait. Once I hit Florida, I may just not want to come home.

 Have to admit, that I am not yet prepared. I have many things I would need, but will have to search the attic for some of them (like the wicks for the oil lamps) I just bought a sterno "stove" on clearance at Wallyworld the other day, but I have no sterno for it yet. Can you say disorganized? I will be getting my act together soon though, because unlike some, I don't enjoy fighting the crowds at the last minute.
