At the beginning of the year I was told that juniors would NOT have to take the TAKS test. It's utterly STUPID that we have to take it, even after passing the Exit Level TAAS LAST YEAR!
Yeah, I'm pretty mad about having to take it, as you can see. It wouldn't be so bad if I didnt have two AP exams next week...

I see. Many states, Florida and Massachusetts you have to pass it in order to graduate. I believe it is for juniors (11th graders).
My last two years of high school, 1994 to 1996, they were experimenting with the state exams for using it has a requirment to graduate. So those that didn't pass would graduate, unless they didn't do well in their classes.

Here, they are called MEP Tests, and are given every spring for state evaluation as to the academic standing of the school districts....these credentials can change from year to year, depending on the OVERALL average of the individual district.

One MORE reason I champion privatization of elementary and secondary schools.

Good Luck guys.
I remember taking the Sophomore assessment in High School...that was just as bad as taking my ACT's. I did not have to take a test to graduate, but I think my brother does...he is also a junior. I think Wisconsin requires the 'graduation test' starting with the class of 2003, don't quote me on that.
I have problem with standardized tests that has been underestimated by my teachers and professors. Thankfully, out of their generosity, my professors allow me to take the MC test without the Scantron sheet. They aren't supposed to do that, but they do.
Knock on wood, I have yet to take the University of Wisconsin System sophomore assessment. I'm academically a junior, but I have senior standing for credits.
