Yankeegirl, things definately do not look good as far as rainfall in our areas. Only a measly 30% for us on Monday and all of next week looks dry with temps heating up. Local met last night said he thinks we're heading into a moderate drought the way the pattern is shaping up for the rest of May. I noticed today how dry everything is getting around town, the grass is dying and I'm having to constantly water mine to keep it green. It's frustrating that Pensacola, FL would receive over 24" of rain in April while we've only had 3" since March 1!

Check out the forecast...the dryness will only get worse and I'm afraid we'll be talking DROUGHT in about a week.

Looks like storms for Sunday.

From the SPC Discussion:

***TX PORTION***
MODEL TRENDS...INCLUDING THE SHORT RANGE ENSEMBLES...SUGGEST THAT
TSTMS WILL GROW UPSCALE INTO A MCS ACROSS SWRN-CNTRL TX SATURDAY
NIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY AS SRN PART OF THE LARGE SCALE TROUGH MOVES
EWD. THESE STORMS MAY ALREADY BE PRODUCING HAIL AT 12Z SUNDAY.
QUESTION REMAINS ON HOW THE MCS WILL EVOLVE. PRIND THAT STORMS WILL
DEVELOP/MOVE ENEWD TOWARD THE ARKLATEX AND PERHAPS THE MID/UPPER TX
COAST DURING THE AFTERNOON. HIGHER SEVERE PROBABILITIES WILL EXIST
ALONG SRN/WRN EDGE OF THE MCS WHERE AVAILABILITY OF STEEPER LAPSE
RATES/INSTABILITY WILL EXIST IN THE INFLOW REGION OF THE SYSTEM.
