OUCH

#1 Postby george_r_1961 » Fri May 06, 2005 8:04 pm

Slipped and fell at work this evening while out delivering. My right elbow took the worst of it and is swollen to twice its normal size. The doc said I ruptured the bursa ( the sac of fluid surrounding the joint) and the elbow would be sore for some time. So im off the rest of the weekend on doctors orders. First time in my life I ever filed for workmans comp.

george

just a word of caution, watch your elbow closely....those things get infected easily!!!! if it starts to feel warm or you get a fever or it turns red or swells more...go to the ER.

Mary

PS Hope you get better soon :)

George - so sorry to hear of this too. I've twisted my ankles, a lot, something I just tend to do. So I know a little of what you're going thru. But with this being an elbow, I'm sure you can't drive. Or even cook meals maybe. So please ice it, soak it, whatever the doc said. And get better! I'll be praying for a speedy recovery as well. You just kick yourself when you're down like this. It was almost a year ago I twisted my ankle, for the last time I vowed. I walk everywhere I go now, very-very carefully. Almost like an old lady. But too bad - I hate being down and injured.

Hang in there!!! At least maybe you'll have more time for the boards? Or to watch some movies you've been meaning to?

Nothing funny about funny bone or elbow injuries. They hurt, they restrict much that you do, and like a displaced thumb I got more than 30 years ago, the pain sometimes comes back to remind you when it happened in the first place.

A word of caution....don't sign off on Worker's Comp until you are completely sure it has healed and is at 100%.
