So sorry for your loss. My dad passed away in 1988 and I still miss him so much to this day. Somewhere along the line, I just decided I couldn't understand why he had to go so quickly, within 5 weeks of his cancer diagnosis at age 67, but rather I accepted it. I know my dad is with me and my family, in spirit. I believe our loved ones that have passed on to another life are with us. Walking beside us at various times while we're still on this earth. Just a personal belief I have, but I've found it comforting to imagine my dad is never far away. David, find what is comforting to you and honor your mother that way tomorrow.

So sorry to hear about your mom...Lost my dad in 1987 and everyday I still think about him everyday. He was only 56 years old. It is hard, but he would have wanted me to stay strong and have a good life. So I live day to day, and make sure that I keep him a part of my life. I kept a few of his things, his wallet, his lighter, drivers license. They mean a lot to me. I keep them as if they are gold. Here's to remembering your mother on Mothers day. May the Lord bless you.

StormChasr, I believe when those we love make the transition from this life to the next, it is always ultimately for their highest good, even if that good is not apparent at the time. My mom passed 20 years ago last month; my dad, 3 years this coming November. I still think of them daily. Your remembrance of your mom is a healthy, positive expression of your love.
