in the Caribbean -- looks very tropical. Anyone hazard a guess about potential development -- if winds decrease?:

Still way too much shear ... 50 to 70 knots in the northern Carribean ...

Yea I agree, the westerlies are still far south and strong. If this area hangs around till Sunday/Monday maybe, but a slight maybe at that.

We have already a couple of threads about the caribbean situation so dixie this one will be locked to not have more threads about the convection and low pressure themes.Now dixie for example if a invest is issued for this then new caribbean thread can be made. We can allow a maximun 2 threads about a same theme but no more because the forum would be at the pages with many threads about a same subject and that is not good for a forum.
