I am probably the only one on the face of the earth that doesn't Love Raymond," and would love to see the character get his a$$ kicked for his sniveling mouth. :) :) :)

David - well, my family and I watch this show, faithfully each week. But enjoy the earlier shows, I must admit. The past few seasons have been a scream/nag/biotch fest. And if I had to eliminate a Monday night sitcom from my schedule, I'm sorry to admit to faithful ELR fans, it went. I prefer Two and a Half Men, slated to fill the ELR timeslot next fall. The character than annoys us the most is Debra. We honestly cannot find anything to like about this character!

That said, I know there are many, many devoted Raymond fans out there. Out of respect for them, I don't want to rag on it too much. Sure wouldn't want someone to miss the finale. And oh yeah, we will watch. Actually last week's show with Amy's mom revealing she's been smoking for 27 years, was nothing less than hilarious! I did wonder at the time, now why is this show going out? It was that good. If only they didn't turn Deb into a major shrew...

I absolutely love the show, but will be watching most of this year in syndication. It comes on the same time as "24" which I usually tape to watch later anyway. It seems I'm usually busy at that time. I hate to watch the finale when I've missed so much this year, but I might anyway.

Sad to see such a truly funny show go, but I guess they don't last forever...

YG - you're quite welcome!

If you're a fan of That 70s Show, it's finale is this Wednesday and is a full hour. It will be your last time to see Topher Grace, as Eric Forman. Mmmm, why do I not believe that? LOL Anyway, the character is being written out, per the actor's request. Ashton Kutcher will follow and only appear a few times next year. If you like this show, it's the end of the basement era. I might start a thread for it, but I'm afraid not many here watch the 70s Show. I knew we had Raymond fans.

Kelly - tune in, b/c from what I read the finale will be very similar to what they always did - told a funny story, within the 30 minute timeslot. Only difference this year is Robert is married to Amy, they're living with Marie and Frank, after they unsuccessfuly tried to buy their house, giving up their apartment lease. Frank and Marie thought they'd be sitting pretty right now in their retirement condo, but that didn't work out either (condo assoc. pleaded with Ray and Deb to take Marie and Frank home, on one of their early condo visits).

Was interesting to know that actress Monica Horan (Amy McDougal Barone) is married to Everybody Loves Raymond producer Phil Rosenthal...learned that on this morning's CBS Early Show. :)

Going to hate to see Ray and Crew leave...but they'll still be in syndication!

OH - I hope your mom enjoys the show tonight - but I don't want her to hurt herself!!!

I need to start collecting the DVDs as well. The ONLY other show I collected the DVDs on is SOAP!

So what did you all think of the finale? I thought it was really good, in a quiet way. The ending was perfect. And hey, we finally got to see the kids!!! The blond haired children who look nothing like their parents....TV parents that is. Didn't I read somewhere that all 3 are siblings in real life?

The retrospective before the finale was a nice touch.

The scene where Ray's family was in the hospital waiting room while Ray was in recovery after an adenoids surgery was moving as the nurse came out saying he was having trouble coming out of the anesthesia and then 30 seconds later the surgeon came out saying he was awake was very moving...as was the closing scene where the whole family gathered in Ray and Deborah's kitchen for breakfast! :)

I really enjoyed the retrospective before the episode, too! :D

Wow Eric, that has to be the longest sentence, I was almost out of breath reading it....just kidding. ;-)

I couldn't believe how quickly that scene changed. First Robert is wondering why they all have to be there. Then Marie leaves for the bathroom and all you know what almost happens. I do think then and there I thought hey maybe I could like this Debra afterall! She was nice tonight....you knew when they decided not to tell Ray or Marie what almost happened, it would all come out. Like a bomb waiting to go off.

I can see why the cast didn't want to give anything away. It was a good episode.

Then we watched Two and a Half Men and just about die laughing so hard. To go from a classic, bittersweet show like Raymond to TAHM, that was so funny, well, our Monday evening was complete.

WOW... I thought they were really going to kill him off. I saw a post on another messageboard(from a "friend of a friend", always be wary) that they did kill him but I thought it was garbage, wasn't so far-fetched afterall.

He had adenoid surgery? So, what now...he doesn't talk like that anymore? :)

(Just kidding, of course...but I was going to have adenoid surgery when I was younger. My mom said I sounded like I had a cold almost all the time...and I could do perfect impressions of Kermit the Frog and Yogi Bear.)

They had kids? Go figure! Yup, they're all related:
Madylin Sweeten .... Alexandra 'Ally' Barone
Sawyer Sweeten .... Geoffrey Barone
Sullivan Sweeten .... Michael Barone

Geez... this is going to be the highest-rated show of the week I think(topping CSI and Desperate Housewives)!!!

The series finale of "Everybody Loves Raymond" drew nearly 32.2 million viewers in early ratings estimates, helping to pave the way for a Monday night CBS rout.

CBS won big in the 9 p.m. hour with the "Raymond" finale (19.7/29) and "Two and a Half Men" (15.2/22). ABC's "Bachelor" had a 6.9/10, just ahead of the 6.8/10 for FOX's "24." NBC's "Hercules" was fourth. On The WB, "Everwood" was fifth, narrowly beating the 2.8/4 averaged by "Girlfriends" and "Half & Half" on UPN.

People here can see "Raymond" on 2 stations, a local WB station and TBS (if they have cable/satellite).

In a way, the show will still run, there just won't be anymore new episodes.
