Associated Press

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. -- A 12-year-old Illinois girl is facing attempted murder charges.

The girl is accused of stabbing a 12-year-old boy in the back during class at their junior high school in the Chicago suburb of Buffalo Grove.

Authorities say the girl attacked the boy because he did not accept her apology after they had gotten into an argument.

Investigators say the boy was at the computer when the girl plunged a five-inch knife into his back.

The district's superintendent says the boy was treated for a punctured lung and is recovering.

The girl has been charged as a juvenile.

Somebody in that school screwed up with Security so they are facing a liability issue along with the girl's parents.

Wow surprising that this happened in Buffalo Grove. That's supposed to be a relatively good area.

The worst problem I faced in elementary school was having my pony tail pulled by the boy behind me. In high school the same boy ended up behind me (I hate teachers who assign by the alphabet) and he graduated to using a ruler on my intimate clothing. I felt like smacking him but never doing him bodily harm. Can you believe this same ignoramus helped me at graduation when I was having a panic attack about going on the stage. He started telling me jokes and the attack passed. I honestly think kids now think its like the movies where the hero gets hurt and he doesn't die.
