You didn't read the post right, "MY" temps are NOT going to be THAT bad, highs in the 80's to 90's......the HOT temps are in Phoenix and ALL the lower deserts, THAT'S WHY I live in the MoUnTaInS........anything above 80° is HOT for ME 8-)

Up where there's still a snowpack, snow on the ground and ambient air temps. approaching 80 degrees must be quite something to experience...

I could drive to the Sierras this weekend to witness a milder version of that (I'm out in CA), but I'm doing the Big Sur thing instead. Ah well.

We had 99 yesterday (a record for the date at the house with a POR of 1988-present) and today we have already hit 101F which smashed our record for the day and is our earliest 100F reading. Looked at the sounding and we have gone convective to 550mb which is why despite the bonedry atmosphere we are getting PWCs (Puffy White Clouds) now so we are not likely to get any warmer-though not much cooler either until sundown. A June heat blast in May. It's happened before but usually a week later in the month. Important though, because it means that the weird pattern we had last year is not in place and if we get the June blast at the same time of month it would set us up nicely for a monsoon start in early July.

Ah yes, but the elevation at my house is 4679' and we only average about 5 days with 100F readings a year.
