New Orleans weatherman leaving for Miami
For all SE LA weather watchers, incase you have not heard:
Starting @ the first week of July, Dave Bernard from WWL will be leaving to cover the weather down in Miami.
I guess all that Ivan coverage from last year got him a promotion!

No.
And I have no idea what that previous post is about. That met is supposedly leaving to become a local met in Miami...but there are no changes at the NHC other than the pending hiring of one other forecaster...and they generally don't hire TV mets to become NHC forecasters.

WWL's David Bernard is taking a job with WFOR, the CBS affiliate in Miami.

Andrew '92, Katrina '05, Gustav '08, Isaac '12, Ida '21...and countless other lesser landfalling storms whose names have been eclipsed by "The Big Ones".

Well Kamal's replacement has been chosen,Phil Ferro is his name.I believe Steadham's replacement is John Gerard not to be confused with the other on air MET there who is John Guaraldi.
Like BayouVentex said Bernard is going over to WFOR-Miami most likely to fill the void that will be left by Bob Soper who will be retiring soon.
Some have said here that David Bernard is very knowledgable & a good MET.If this is the case then Channel 4 WFOR really has a strong team of METS there, they are definately the ones to watch this hurricane season in my opinion.

For people in New Orleans, his last broadcast will be July 6th. They have not started looking for a replacement.
Hopefully John Gumm will get a promotion to the Morning Show and Noon Meteorologists.
Anyone in Miami, you will really love this guy. Surely puts the fun in weather. Make sure the Anchors are ready to mess with him, he will surely miss Eric.

David, Eric and Sally Ann make the morning news fun! David will surely be missed.
The Times Picayune did a story on David last year after Ivan called the "Star of the Storm". It was a very good story.
