All signs that I've seen point to a very busy year. It may be august before it gets going, but I think it will be busy when it starts.

I'll take those odds. Mother Nature has a funny way of doing things differently. REMEMBER WE LIVE IN UNCONVENTIONAL AND UNPREDICTABLE TIMES, AND ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. Whose to say that this has not happened before? While I highly doubt that 4 will hit, it is a possibility.

Last season ,on the news I heard scientists say that we are probably entering a period like we haven't seen since the 1950s and '60s with hurricanes. MORE hurricanes,MORE US strikes

Really?? He actually said words to that effect? If so thats not very useful information if you ask me. I don't mean to be rude or anything but there's just SO MUCH pointless tropical coverage in the month of May and that sounds like typical media pablum (hows that for a word :D )

Dr. Gray is not one to put out "media pablum". He is geting ready to realease his update in about a week though so I would not expect him to be concise and detailed in any interview about what he expects. Possibly they didn't ask a direct question concerning it either.

I didn't mean to imply that he did. I was referring to the media which puts out a lot of garbage this time of year...basically lifting parts of seasonal forecasts and trying to draw location-specific conclusions in order to gain ratings.

We dont need 4..All you need is one big one & it could cause as much damage as the 4 the state saw last year.
