The Weather Man (To the melody of Piano Man)

#1 Postby Hurricanehink » Mon May 23, 2005 9:13 pm

Thank you Floydbuster and dhweather for the inspiration.

It's 3 o'clock on a summer day,
The storm2kers log in.
There's an invest in the Caribbean.
Everyone is watching for a spin.

Derek Ortt says conditions are favorable.
Floydbuster and Cycloneye know,
That by 5 it will be, another T.D.
And Hurakan's gonna eat crow!

La, la la did de dah, la la, did de dah!

Tell us the news, you're the weather man.
Tell us the tropics tonight.
Well we all want a fish storm,
But sometimes you don't get it right!

Senorpepr informs it's a Tropical Storm.
Dixiebreeze creates a poll.
Will it be, a category three,
Or a fish storm like Nicole.

Boca says warnings are needed,
While another tropical storm joins the race.
Josephine96 fears, it's that time of year,
But it's always that way in this place.

La, la la did de dah, la la, did de dah!

Now Chadtm80 updates the site.
He adds the info on the front page.
Scorpion and Brent, see an eye in its vent.
While the storm gathers its rage.

StormwatchNC tells us, it's official now.
The storm is a hurricane.
Yankeegirl thinks, it's only high jinks,
And Lindaloo agrees it's a pain.

La, la la did de dah, la la, did de dah!

Yoda checks NRL for the latest,
Rainstorm says it's getting strong.
ColdFront77 agrees it's a Cat. 3.
Yet it still is going along.

VBhoutex knows it's going to Florida.
Southerngale hopes it dies from the shear.
But it's OK, here at Storm2k.
Where tropics are always here.

La, la la did de dah, la la, did de dah!

Tell us the news, you're the weather man.
Tell us the tropics tonight.
Well we all want a fish storm,
But sometimes you don't get it right!

There you go, my homage to both Billy Joel's Piano Man and to the wonderful people of Storm2k (sorry to those I missed, a guy tends to get forgetful sometimes.)

Thanks everyone! It was fun to do, and we all need something to lessen the anxiety of an approaching season.

I have Billy Joel Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 & 2 CD set , but I couldn't find the one with Piano Man on it so I downloaded the song last night and sang along. lol

Yes, I'm nuts. But it was fun. Image
