Well.. here's why
I am supposed to usually work a 5 day week. Sundays and Tuesday-Friday. Next week is the week of Memorial Day.
If I am not mistaken company policy is you work a 5 day week and get paid for 6.
Well, Mr. Gessler, my store boss {nice man btw} apparently says that because the stores sales are doing icky.. and because payroll is still out of wack..We are being REQUIRED to take an extra day off next week, and with holiday pay.. we will work 4 days but get paid for 5..
I have already done the math.. that basically means.. I will make a normal check when I get it on 6/16.. and there will be no holiday bonus.. I understand Mr. Gessler's method.. and I already know which day off I want.. but if it were Thanksgiving or X-Mas.. he wouldn't dare to pull this..
I wonder if this is gonna come up during July 4th and Labor Day too. Supposedly if our sales were better.. Mr Gessler would not be asking us for the 3rd day off next week.
Feel free to chime in if you'd like..
{rant over.. steps off soapbox}
My company has me a little miffed right now..

I don't necessarily feel like I'm being mistreated.. I just think we should have the option of if we wanna work the regular 5 day week and get paid for 6.. then go ahead..
I'm still pretty happy at Wal Mart.. even after almost 8 months there.. But sometimes they do things that make me wonder..

I TOTALLY agree here. Check out this REPORT (in PDF format) on Wal*Mart's practices.
Better yet, do several Google searches for Anti-Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart labor laws, and similar phrases. You should be able to find a wealth of information.
