An update from yesterday's "miffed" topic

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Wed May 25, 2005 4:00 pm

After harsh backlash and apparent rewording of his original statement.. My store boss.. Mr. Gessler has done a complete 360..

It is now only OPTIONAL to take a 3rd day off and get paid 5 days for 4 instead for 6 for 5..

I will work my regular 5 days.. cause I like the thought of a little extra cash in the middle of June..

Much of the stores' "tension" was eased today with this announcement

I've already figured out.. when I get my paycheck on 6/16.. that little bit of extra $ will probably be blown {not the whole check.. just the extra $}

Let's see.. 7.05 times 8 hours equals 56.40.. not too shabby

We were also warned though.. that if sales are sluggish around July 4th.. Mr. Gessler will not be afraid to bring up the 4 for 5 idea again..

On another note, it's probably not a good idea to start naming your boss by name in a public forum. Just my humble advice.

LOL.. He's not my "boss".. He's my store boss.. but you're right.. I'll just refer to him as "the dude that runs my store" or something lol

i'm glad it worked out, but i'm still amazed at how folks can make a living on $7 an hour....

my 17 year old makes 7.50 and works about 30 hours a week. it's total mad money for him. he's saving for insurance and a car (he doesnt know we're getting him one yet)....

It is also a good idea not to mention your hourly rate. That is confidential info.
