I can't believe that Cassie on Y & R died yesterday.
It was so sad when Nicholas was singing the lullaby and she slipped away.
It was a great performance. Probably one of the best scenes I've ever seen him do.
She was the only child on a soap opera that didn't magically age 5 years at summer camp or boarding school. She blossomed from a cute young child to a lovely teenage girl. Her future storylines could have been limitless. I think they made a terrible mistake killing her off.

I keep hoping she's not dead, but I can't figure out a scenario that would make sense and have her live unless it was a dream sequence like when Kate had the dream where Gibbs was dead earlier in the show. I'm upset too.

Since I don't watch NCIS, I don't know the characters very well or what exactly happened with Katlyn. But I do know it's Donald Bellasario's creation, the same mind behind JAG. If JAG could have a character thought dead, but then later found alive, I don't see why he couldn't do it here also. On JAG, it was Steven Culp's (Rex on Desperate Housewives) character Clayton Webb who "died" twice, the first time obviously not for real. If only they could do that to Rex.

Question: I was so shocked to see Kate (Sasha Alexander) killed off on NCIS! Did Sasha want to leave the show? — Josh
Ausiello: Based on the avalanche of e-mails I received just seconds after the finale aired last week, I don't think anyone saw that killer twist coming. But to answer your question, yeah, Sasha wanted out. Series creator Donald Bellisario told my colleague Mary Murphy that Sasha approached him in March and asked to be released from her contract. "She came in with tears in her eyes," he recalls, "and said, 'I never worked this hard in my life. I just don't have the stamina to do it [anymore].'" So, Bellisario says he was faced with two choices: make the actress honor her contract or write her exit into the story. "And since NCIS deals with the reality of what happens in the biz — and people die — I decided it was better to let her die in a very impactful way," he explains. "I knew it would shock everybody."

Yeah, but it was still a pretty shocking scene.
Wonder who they'll get to be the female agent? Every show needs a female lead.
Further down on the same link I posted:
Question: Who will take Kate's place on NCIS? — Darlene
Ausiello: Bellisario is currently holding auditions for her successor and hopes to have the role cast by mid-July. "I am looking to globalize the show, so I am going to cast someone who is non-American — maybe an Australian," he reveals. "I want to bring somebody in who is different from Kate, a girl who is more sexually open. Kate was uptight. I think [the new girl] will give Tony a run for his money." That's just what TV needs: another slut in uniform.
I watched it Tuesday night (the episode where Charles Durning plays a Medal of Honor recipient who confesses to killing his best friend). I'm almost hooked. But wasn't NCIS usually on at 10 EDT, opposite Law & Order: SVU during the regular season? See...that's where they'd lose me, unless I got a second DVR. And since I'm working on getting a bigger TV, and a second DVR would be free through Dish Network, I might just have to do that.
And if they get an Aussie female in a lead role...well, now, you know I'm gonna have to watch.

Nah....
#1 - "Without A Trace" is still on the air.
#2 - It ranks right up there with NCIS in ratings
#3 - Her character isn't dead yet.
I have a better idea...someone closer in age to Gibbs:
