Wal Mart's hurricane expert right here.. :)
Me lol..
I made an announcement at the meeting today that hurricane season was starting on Wednesday. Following that, I told my fellow employees how much I enjoy tracking the storms and watching how close they get or even give a direct hit lol..
I was then officially given the term "Storm Tracker" and the 2881 Wal Mart management will post a big map in the break room, and when storms are out.. I'll update the position at least 1-2 times a day.
Sounds like I may have a busy summer lol

That so cool. At my job at Sears, my nickname by management is Miss Weather woman. I wanted to hold a hurricane prepardeness meeting at work. Give out appetizers. Hurricane food only-Spam kabobs, vienna sausage, tuna, Spagettio-o's. etc... And give away door prizes such as plywood, batteries and flashlights. And the grand prize drawing of a generator. When I told the manager what I wanted to do, he laughed at me.

Good idea. The season is almost upon is and its now time for folks to start making their hurricane plan. Good luck in convincing management to go along with you.

I am the hurricane authority here at work. When everyone was running around like crazy when Ivan was headed this way I was the only one who had the confidence not to evacuate or panic. The key it to throw out a couple of technical sounding terms like CDO or eyewall replacement cycles to make them think you are an expert......MGC

HAHAHA, that is so true... MGC
If you begin to mention anything that the weather channel or the local met's don't cover... all of a sudden people look to you as an informed source. Especially when you back it up with reason, knowledge, and general intelligence.
