I knew it!

#1 Postby JenBayles » Sun May 29, 2005 8:36 pm

Just got back from Red River, NM where we got chased off the mountains for 4 days by some really wild storms. Got stuck outside of Taos with 1/2" hail and rain so heavy we couldn't even see the mountains for a good 45 minutes, followed by a very cold and wet ride on the bikes back to Red River. The snow melt up there has caused a lot of flooding and the additional rains have kept the flood warnings going every day for the week I've been checking.

So, all the whining I've been doing about no rain in Houston seems to have paid off in spades. LOL! We were flying back from Taos on a Cessna Citation jet and the closer we got to Houston the more the radar lit up. Lots of anvils in the sky - and right where we needed to go of course!

Much as I enjoyed the mountains, I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying being back in the heat and humidity with the bonus of big thunderstorms going on. Yeeee haw!
