Storm Threats

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Mon May 30, 2005 2:02 pm

I don't know if any of you are frazzled after what occured to my beautiful state of Florida in 2004..

But.. I have just 1 question for you.. If a storm were to begin to head your way.. and even be forecasted to come your way..

Would you have a "Please turn".. or "BRING IT ON" type attitude..

Comments welcomed..

I have seen a lot of shirts worn by Floridians around here.. that say "Charley, Frances, Jeanne".. the next 1.. "BRING IT ON" So maybe there are some of us that really aren't that scared no more lol

Be careful of what you say...That is a very sensitive issue around here. :)

Having said that I say...

BRING IT ON!

I say bring it on.

Not that I want one, but it's gonna take a 3 headed to New Orleans
before I evacuate. I'm not in a flood zone, and the house is extremely
well built with shutters approved for Miami/Dade standards.

You would not be saying that if you lived SOUTH of New Orleans like I do. Lots would drown. I doubt if we can even take anything higher than a Cat 1 here. Even though I live in a brick home and was one of the few homes that never, ever flooded.

Yaeh I am surprized @ the results so far considering that its suppose to be a taboo to want a hurricane to hit you.

We're probably all weather freak nits around here and we like the awesome power of the wind..

My mother always asks me.. Why would you want a major hurricane over a blizzard.. I have some reasons..

1. I think even with the damage.. the power of the wind is awesome
2. Hurricanes come on land and only drop the temp maybe into the 60's-70's.. not ice cold..
3. Hurricanes are much more powerful than blizzards.
4. I hate snow {even though I have never seen it lol}
5. 4 names: Erin, Charley, Frances and Jeanne

An upper-level trough eroded their support. :)

Well... I look at it this way. My wishing for it isn't going to make it happen and my wanting it to turn away isn't going to make it turn away, so once it's obvious, you might as well want it or you should get away. I'm pretty far inland though.

Kinda like -removed-... it doesn't have any impact on what the storm does.

J - I'm on a roll today, God help storm2k!

Say, did Prince have a clue that when he wrote "Purple Rain", that
purple would indicate the second most intense rainfall by WSR88D?

I got news for you Prince (or the artist formerly known as prince) -
you ain't gonna see anyone standing in the purple rain!

Before Charley last year, I would have said. 'Bring it on", why not?... it would be cool to experience a hurricane!

I guess one has to actually 'live' the effects of a hurricane to know and understand that none of us in Charlotte county wishes to see another hurricane any time soon.

My vote....turn it!

I'm more likely to have a blizzard than a hurricane, thank god for that. Even though blizzards are dangerous and I had one two years ago, I'll take it.
