Best BBQ ribs I have ever tasted are at Bowie Junction in Raceland La.
Just off of Hwy 90 next to the queen bee bar.
Tim

EDIT even better than TJ Ribs in BR.

I pass that place quite often but have never stopped to eat. Now I'm gonna have to find out if you're right.

I dont care for Sonny's. The food is mediocre but the service is awful. I've had dirty flatware there consistently, i.e. three times in a row. I dont need to be beat over the head to know i'm not going back there.

there's a local place here called Porter's that is just wonderful. he can do things to brisket that are beyond belief.

in the memphis airport is a Memphis barbecue place that i really like too.

Oh and Jim & Nick's has great barbecue too.

Oh love Jim and Nicks....first ate at the one in Birmingham, then Destin, now they have put one in Niceville. Food is excellent.

There is also a little place in Mary Esther called Daddy's BBQ.. pretty dog gone tasty..for a little whole in the wall!!!

In Palm Beach and Broward Counties here in Southeast Florida (and possibly elsewhere??), you can't get a bad meal at Mississippi Sweets BBQ. The dress code is casual, the prices are inexpensive, and the very thinly sliced and fried sweet potato "chips" are to die for! The ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, Brunswick stew, cornbread, slaw, and desserts like key lime pie aren't bad, either.... :D
