ONE BUSY GOM....

#1 Postby dixiebreeze » Tue May 31, 2005 8:42 pm

We are getting pounded with storms right now and it's supposed to get worse overnight. Also looks like the convection is training NE from the YP. Might wet week even if nothing else develops.

Nothing is developing....it is just a Florida stagnant low. We see them all the time.

I agree... it just feels unusual. We had been so dry for the month really until last night(I remarked on Saturday about being around 3 inches behind)(had a little rain Sunday/Monday, but not as much as other areas).

I can't even remember the last "all-day" rain here. It's been THAT long.

I'm almost 90 miles away under fair skies and can see the entire storm over Citrus county (to the north) from my front porch. The lightning is incredible. It's easier to count the pauses than the flashes.

You can see that ULL rotating off the LA coast on the NO and Mobile radars. I'll take all the rain I can get out of this. My grass was turning brown.

Take care all. Reports indicate that tornados are possible after midnight, along with very heavy storms, lightening, etc. No doubt there will be flood watches/warnings soon.

Yes I need rain also. I probably mowed the yard 8 times in April . Only once in May.

There were a couple of tornado reports in South Alabama earlier this evening... I haven't had any thunder all day though. Not even any distant stuff.

Tornado watch for all of Central Florida until 6 A.M. We've had 4.9 inches of rain in the past two days here, and severe boomers. Looks like an entire week of T-storms.
