Home Depot has taken this to new levels.
Their 2005 Hurricane Preparation Guide, sponsored by The Weather Channel, lists the Saffir Simpson Scale BACKWARDS.
Even with last year’s busy season here in Florida, we still enjoy a steady stream of new residents from all over the country. When they open up to page 4, here is what they see:
Category.............Winds (MPH).........Typical Storm Surge
1........................> 155..................>18’
2........................131 – 155............ 13’ – 18’
3........................111 – 130.............9’ – 12’
4........................96 – 110...............6’ – 8’
5........................74 – 94................4’ – 5’
This is one mistake that should never have survived proofreading. Maybe someone in our community is in a position to remedy this… somehow.
Goodd Work...I am glad to see another member taking charge and calling out misinformation. I personally will be calling to the carpet all misinformation i see and hear this season, we could write a book about it at the end of the season.
