Thanks for the link to the wind map. It looks to be accurate. I'm in Washington Parish, LA and it has us in the 75 mph range. Thats what I recall, winds of around 80 mph gusting to 100. She was relentless, I was scared to death yet I was so impressed by her fury. I too give Elena the credit for my love of canes.

Melhow-- Thanks for the info. I think I have a pretty good idea of where you're talking about. Indian Rocks is definitely not a place I'd like to ride out a hurricane! In fact, we were vacationing there when Erin threatened. The fear of having to ride it out in a storm shelter somewhere in Largo or St. Pete drove us out there before the evacuations were even ordered!
