My son extended in the Gulf

#1 Postby MGC » Sat Jun 04, 2005 10:24 am

My son, currently deployed on the USS Carl Vinson has been extended. Seems the carrier that was to be the Vinson's relief may have been diverted to Taiwan in a show of force. My son mentioned in an e-mail that China is messing with Taiwan again. He is scheduled to arrive NORVA 31 July......MGC

Wishing him well and sorry to hear his stay is extended. My niece's ex-husband spent almost a year in Iraq. But his stay kept getting extended too. We learned nothing was for certain. My niece would send us all email updates and warn us that with the Army, things could change, at the last minute. And they did a few times. At least we prepared ourselves he'd be there maybe longer than we'd hope he'd be. But boy when Kris did make it home for good, we were all so relieved. I could sleep well at night again.

Hang in there. Lean on all of us you need to! Thank him for serving for our country.

Mary

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

Model Runs Cheat Sheet:

HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.

Indeed thank him for his service when you get the chance. And hopefully things will begin to calm and he can return home once again.

One of my employees is being deployed to Afghanistan right about now. When I saw his orders....something like 503 days, my heart just sunk for him. He has two children here in the states.

While you are praying for your son and others...drop the name of Larry Loomis in the mix. We miss him at work but we are so very proud of him, too.

Prayers are going out that your son will be protected from harm while he is serving on the USS Carl Vinson . I know what you are going through. My son serves aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt where he is a Interior Communications Petty Officer 2nd class. He was recently honored with an award for his service in finding a short in the electrical system of the ship that the electricians could not find.
