Taking a look at a few models this afternoon, the GFS, NAM, and ECMWF seem to agree with the idea that this trough of low pressure will keep showers and likely hood of thunder storms in our area through about mid-week. Mother nature then sends the low spinning off over into Western Montana. After about mid-week, looks like weak high pressure may try and build over us by thursday the 9th. But it also seems that zonal flow will be more of a key player...thus, a good idea to keep a small chance of showers through at least the period of monday the 13th. Surface temps should still be realitivly mild during this time....lower to mid 60`s. In fact, per MRF-MOS....temps are in the mid-60`s with the AVG. High/ low temp being 69/51. Pretty good I say...!

Weather Alert from Andy..!!

Check out Seattle radar loop right now..! WeatherUnderground radar loops shows the storm has just fired up with the last half hour to hour. And this cell has a height of 17,000ft tops, with POH at 60% and MAX hail size at .50". Right now, this cell looks stationary! Oooohhh boy, what a cell this is! http://radar.wrh.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS ... katx.shtml

We have moderate rain and have heard a few claps of thunder in the last 10 minutes. It has been an interesting day, to say the least.

Covington got smacked again! TT may have to rethink his assertion that Covington does not get good weather! :D

We just had very heavy rain with a few minutes of moderate hail, and of course some thunder. We had enough hail to begin to turn the ground white, and about .20 of rain in 10 minutes. This year has been ASTONISHING!

62 is still solidly below normal for this date. My high was only 58, which is a big fat 10 degrees below normal! :D

It was also 65 degrees in Bellevue.

We were at a park on Mercer Island and it was beautiful this afternoon.

Sunny... pleasant... and very comfortable.

Amazingly nice considering the gloom and doom forecast you putting out there yesterday!! :D

People walking around in shorts... biking... playing croquet.

TT-SEA,

The scattered nature of these storms gave many locations a variety of weather...here in Mukilteo, we had EXTREMELY heavy rain early this afternoon...and an hour ago, a decent thunderstorm passed overhead. We have NOT had a solid, sunny, pleasant day. Let's just say your area got lucky.

Tomorrow looks very similar today as the cold, upper level low moves right overhead...things could be more widespread as the convective temperature is at 55F and lapse rates are at -1, -2.

Covington ended up with a perfect half inch of rain today. There were some brief sunny periods here, but overall it was pretty cloudy and wet. Right now the temperature is an insanely low 51 degrees. That is almost the normal low for this date and the sun isn't down yet!

Officially in Seattle a high of 62 degrees with rainfall of .01 for the day.

We had a high of 61 degrees with .08 of rain in North Bend.

Sandpoint had a high of 65 degrees with a trace of rain.

Bellevue had a high of 65 degrees with NO rain.

Not too dramatic.

My point is... it was actually a pretty nice day. No all-day clouds and rain with highs in the low 50's that Snow_Wizzard was hoping for!!

TT-SEA,

But if you were in Mukilteo all day, I believe you'd think different. Today was not a comfortable day...it rained a fair amount and we had a thunderstorm. I don't characterize that as a "comfortable" day. Looking at statistics in a few regions does not give an overall consensus about the weather for today...meaning you can't look at the stats for Bellevue and say "Oh...it was 65F with no measurable rain...that means all of Western Washington was like that." Everything was scattered in nature...places 20 miles apart made a big difference.
