Worst case would be a weak TD. This thing isn't generating any strong tropical storms, or cat 1's. The environment isn't that hospitable, and it will most likely be a rainmaker.

Anyway, I think it's nothing to get excited about. I learned how to read the Recon reports. BTW is zulu time 5 hrs ahead of Central time?

Actually, I just posted about this.

senorpepr wrote:Actually, they normally just say INVEST... or in this case 01AAA INVEST. 01 meaning the first mission to this particular system, the first two A's for the first active invest, and the third A for the Atlantic. The second mission, labelled 0201A CYCLONE is a standard title. 02 meaning the second mission, 01 meaning the first depression (should it develop into one) and CYCLONE being a standard name for a depression. However, it should be noted this is standard procedure and it DOES NOT mean that the NHC nor the 53rd Wx Recon Squadron believes it will definately become a TD.

So in short, no they don't believe it will.

Of course, S2K's Worldwide Tropical Update Webpage (http://tropicalupdates.nhcwx.com/) has a recon page that automatically updates every couple of minutes. This will refresh to the latest TCPOD, RECCO ob, VORTEX, and supplementary VORTEX. Make sure and check it out at http://tropicalupdates.nhcwx.com/recon.htm. Also, check out the Atlantic page for more information at http://tropicalupdates.nhcwx.com/atl.htm.

Furthermore, hopefully I'll be able to decode some of the observations here on the message board tomorrow. :knocks on wood:

Its fine to not be optimistic about development, but I would not be too pesimistic about it not developing. With the way the latest model runs are going, it could get quite interesting.
