Looks like the news is getting the go ahead to call it a depression, expect advisories on the 5pm

True... but 99.9% of the time the NRL calls it correctly right before the NHC makes it official.

This could be the 0.01% but I doubt it... based on the west wind.

It's because they sit in on the teleconference that happens at 4 EDT/3 CDT...the NHC tells you at 3 (my time at least)...what they are going to do with the system...intensity...watches/warnings...and track. So...the NRL knows because the NHC has already said it.The times they are wrong is when the NHC changes their mindsb/w 3 CDT and advisory time.

What FM station? I'm listening to KPRC 950 AM online. Nothing there yet.

FM 97.5 , KFNC, its a new cumulus station, they said it at the 3:30 news break
