I have a question.
Will the upper Sonoran heat ridge keep the moisture from TD 1 away from Texas?

No. There is no ridge. There is a big trof over the western US with westerlies located over Texas. That is what will keep moisture away from Texas.
Shear is the answer you are looking for.
