my noaa radio is going off like gangbusters, tornado warning

#1 Postby isobar » Thu May 01, 2003 2:20 pm

Tornado warning just issued for my county, but it's over Boonville right now which is about 6 miles NE of my location - heading NE at 45. The STS over me is winding down. Whew, it was a doozy!! I don't think my dog will come out from under the bed for the rest of the day! :D

Thanks guys! We're all okay here, even the wussy dog. :D Just some small branches and 2 birdfeeders down in the yard, and some trees down in town. My 10 y/o daughter was a little weirded out cause they did duck and cover in school. That was her first tornado warning, so no doubt she'll be up at 2am with the scheduled nightmare. :o
After the line passed here, it bowed out big time up in Pike County. Looked quite impressive on radar.

Glad to hear that you are safe. :) We never had a tornado warning while in school, but we had one in 5th grade when we were on a bus on the way home from the zoo. It was scary! :o

Wow Garrett, that's a rotten place to be during a tornado! Did you see the funnel? What happened? Sounds like an upcoming Storm Stories episode.

LMAO  Isobar! :D The sky was green and it was hailing, but we never saw a tornado. Everyone on the bus was crying and the teachers/driver didn't know what to do. We just kept driving. I don't know if that was the smartest thing to do, but that is what they did!
