Hey, I'm working on that script to decode the Vortex Supplement Message on the fly like I was talking about with you last night. I've almost completed it, in perl, but on the Inbound track (current vortex supplement anyway) ...the wind direction is 99...what should this be interpreted as...I read it as 990 (which is false) but I thought it was like this

12060 on the last part would be

120 degrees wind direction
60kts wind speed

If you could help me out here (or anyone with the answer) I'd appreciate it.

Hopefully you will be able to use the script like you do your vortex one...

Well, until senorpepr comes on and explains the wind direction to me, I figure I'd atleast show you guys what I got. This perl script downloads the current Vortex Supplemental Message, then Decodes it. Here is the output:

Anytime the wind direction is 99, the wind direction is variable. 99005 would be variable at 6 mph (5 kts)
