No recon report I have seen said more than 56KT, which is about 55 m.p.h. at the surface

You wouldn't see the report in any vortex message if it occurred after the last message of the mission, but the crew would have informed NHC regardless. Since the ob was reported to have occurred at 1130Z, this is what most likely happened.

oh, my fault, I was under the impression there wasn't an easy one around, else it would have been in use.

I'll stop posting, I'm doing this for myself mostly anyway, I love perl and wanted to do it in perl, thanks for the link however...

On a side note, this other script is for the Reco Orbs as they happen, not for the Sup after the Vortex comes out...I pasted in that webpage and it wouldn't decode it...

Yesterday afternoon the reports were slow too but let's be patient as the plane is there.A vortex message soon will come out.

The LLC is moving under the convection. The buoy on the southwest side shows that it has. The outflow/banding has improved I think it will be a hurricane soon.

there are some winds on the sest side and the ship was correct. There was an earlire report about the inaccuracy of ship reports. I guess that on had been calibrated. This could be interesting
