Arlene getting hammered with dry air

Looks like dry air from the sw is really keeping arlene in check :wink:

Looking at the gulf water vapor loop, it looks like Arlene's sucking in dry air like a vacuum. I don't think she'll make hurricane. She might even weaken.

It's almost like her southern half is eroding even more due to the dry air. If she makes it to cane status she will be the ugliest I've ever seen! Getting a heavy shower right now from a outflow associated with Arlene which I'm happy about (means I won't have to water anything this weekend :lol: ).

Dry air has been a issue.. but not much considering it has strengthened with shear as well.. The moisture that looked like it was going to wrap and engulf the center has really not happened and that is probably the affects of both shear and dry air...

Her tenacity puts a eerie start to the season. You are right, no dry air and we may have seen a similar instance as last year with Charley.

Any chance of that dry air making a comeback? Or if I took a really big hair dryer to Dauphin Island, pointed it southeast, and turned it on high heat---would that work??? All this deepening pressure and wobbling west is making me a little nervous! :eek:
