Just a quick comment.

Looks like the thinking now is that Arlene is going to track straight north directly into Pensacola. Radar loop tends to support that tracking at this time, from my personal observation and that of TWC.

TWC also mentioned that there was a slight possibility that Arlene could stall just offshore for a period time before moving inland.

I noticed that. She seems to have slowed a little although I don't think she'll stall.

This storm is the most oreganized it has been in its live. At least center wise. A area of convection has been trying to form over the center. Lets see if this can stall in tighten as it moves in.

9:00 AM Agreed soonertwister, does appear to be moving more north now. I think a Gulf Shores Al landfall is likely. Here there is a steady moderate rain with ENE winds 10 -15 MPH with very few gusts. Rainfall total is now 2.5 inches. Pressure is 29.51.

I believe yall will see the worst conditions in the Ft. Walton Beach area. Light rain in squalls is all I'm seeing thus far.

Just back from Scenic Hwy 98 at Whaletails Rest. Winds sustained at 35mph along the beach and I got a gust on my handheld Skymate to 46mph. Sand was a KILLER! The Ocean is up to the dune that rises up to Scenic 98, no beach whatsoever here in South Walton County in Miramar Bch. 8 miles east of Destin.

Lots of tourists sightseeing!

Watch that squall about to move onshore near Pensacola... probably has the strongest winds so far in it and a brief tornado is possible.

I posted this upthread but thought it might be of more use here.

For those keeping an eye on Destin/Ft. Walton beaches, this live cam is still working: http://www.pcsfla.com/cam.htm

Usually, about 200 yards of beach can be seen between the cam and surf.
