john hope was the ultimate resource.......he had forgotten more than most people knew in the tropics. he didnt have the academic credentials but, oh did he have the practical "chops". it is very doubtful that anyone will achieve his stature via the nuts and bolts route in this era of credentialism

Sad.. I like Lyons, but it is just not the same without Hope. He was the best they had..
