The enviroment is way to unfavable. It has to deal with strong shear in dry air. Its way to early. Look at the shear just northwest 50 knots.

Maybe, but the dry air is not readily apparent.

It is impressive to look at and ponder the possibilities.

It truly is an impressive wave moving off the Africian continent and although the conditions are not favorable for development it does make one wonder..... If there are waves of this magnitude coming off Africa in June, what will the waves coming off of Africa in Aug, Sept and Oct look like? Could be a phenonmenal Cape season from these indications... Any thoughts or comments?

We get to hurry up and wait for the CV season.

With all of the June activity, I wonder if Dr. Gray will up his numbers in
August.

Well it poofed as expected as dry air and shear haved combined to weaken it.But the time will come by late july, august and september when things in the Eastern Atlantic will be more favorable.

Remember, we are ahead of schedule in Hurricane Season 2005. The ITCZ is ahead of schedule, and the waters have almost never been as warm. So, the potential is, that we could see many more than average storms in July, and even a July Major Hurricane is possible.

True, although don't forget that regardless of how warm the waters are and how ahead of schedule the ITCZ is, storms won't form if shear and/or dry air/dust is too great.

I read everything that everyone wrote as a comment... And I think the fact that there's 50 knots of wind shear should prevent all development either way. Has there been any storm to form under those conditions in the past?
