93L Question? 6/16/05

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

93L Question? 6/16/05

Look Closely at the visibles this morning. You can clearly see a circulation inland over Mexico. If my eyes aren't deceiving me it may even be deepening over land. For all the professional mets: Is this possible. I have heard it is given the right conditions but is there a scientific explanation? P.S. I was using the visible from the NRL Site.

There was a depression the nhc upgraded right on the coast in 1999. In this appears to be located half onland half off.

Opal became a tropical storm over the Yucatan in 1995. Bill became a depression over it in 2003(when recon got out after it moved over water, it was already a storm).

I'm sure there have been others too.

I would not be surpized if recon found something today if they went out. But it would be like tropical depression 2 of 1999.

In other words, it's possible if the conditions are right.

And I don't believe the conditions are right at all.

Circulation is still visible over southeastern Mexico, over the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

Does look good even though its over land. What direction is it moving just out of curiousity.... any chance at all it could reemerge into the EPAC or Gulf?

Well this morning we have yet another low level swirl, this one is just inland @ 18n92w and it looks fairly strong. As conditions become better later this weekend this area will still need to watched closely

THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE NEED SOMETHING OVER WATER, NOT INLAND.
