Taiwan began mopping up after six straight days of heavy rain in the south caused floods and landslides that killed 14 people.
Flood waters swamped streets and rice fields, causing US$53 million worth of crop damage, the Council of Agriculture said in a statement.
Weather forecasters said more downpours were likely in the next few days.
Sub-tropical Taiwan, which is hit by three or four typhoons a year, receives 90 per cent of its rainfall between May and October.
In 2001, Typhoon Nari caused the worst ever flooding in capital, Taipei, killing 100 people.
