How many systems will become named storms EAST of 40 degrees
this year? Remember, a named storm means at least Tropical Storm
strength.

The systems that form east of 40w are the true Cape Verde systems many of them longtrackers that reach the Caribbean and the US East coast.I say that 4 of those will form and the rest that may form will be west of 40w closer to the islands.
